Happy Howl-een!

Here is how our Howl-een was....check out the video and make sure your sound is on!

We had a fun Halloween night. Once you watch the video I think you'll agree that at times it seemed that Amici didn't mind his dog construction worker costume. He definitely didn't like the hat but that was to be expected. We had a ton of trick or treaters. Some were in costume but a lot of kids didn't dress up (we still gave them candy anyway though). Amici only seemed to frighten 2 children but it seemed that those 2 kids were afraid of dogs to begin with. They still took candy from us though and one even reached out to pat Amici after he took the candy (with some encouragement from his parents). It was nice to see so many parents out with their kids. Not a lot of parents came to our door but you could see them standing on the edge of our driveway waiting for their kids. That was good to see. Perhaps some of the cutest things were when the kids would get so excited to pet Amici (as they could see him as they approached the steps). Other kids would run to their parents and say, "Aw that was so cool! That dog was a husky! He kissed my hand!". Those comments were nice. A few of the children thought his costume was a guide dog costume (I guess because of the bright color and the way it was worn). It was a good guess anyway.

Oh! And in the video (if you can look pass the Halloween candy bags on the coffee table) there are a few pics of Amici sticking his nose in the candy and then picking out a TWIX bar! And, no, he did not get to keep it nor eat it. That is why at the end of the video you see him putting his nose into a bag of orange things (carrots). He got his own trick or treats (and much healthier for him too if I may add).

Although in our short poll (total of 8 votes) it was frowned upon (43%) to dress your pup up for Halloween, we agree with the 29% that said they dressed up for Halloween ALONG with their pup. We're not sure what Amici will be next year but we'll try to come up with something a bit more cute. The construction costume worked but it wasn't the same as the original costume I had wanted him to wear (dogzilla- it was ADORABLE, he was too long for it). Maybe I'll have to pick up sewing or just buy in the kids' department. :)

Hope everyone had a hauntingly happy Halloween!
Here are two of my favorite photos from the night:

Amici waiting and watching for the trick or treaters.

Just look at that face! He is too cute for words! :)

Wooo Amici!!! You looked sooo cute. The photo of you resting your chin on the window seal was my favorite too!!! We had a few kids come over. I just wore a fall bandana for my costume. Nothing to jazzy!

Glad to hear and see you had a great Halloween! You look awesome in your costume, Amici! Too bad you couldn't get the candy though. But I suppose carrots are tasty too.

OMDogness, that video was great! You looked good in yur costume. Daddy wouldn't let our mommy dress us up (we are kinda glad). At least you got to sniff the candy even though you couldn't eat any.

What a cool video! My mom said your costume reminded her of the village people, but I'm not sure which village she was talking about. Who knows.

Loved the video! Very cute! We didn't give out candy since we only get a handful of trick-or-treaters. Mom and Dad took the little biped out to get candy instead. We stood watch at the house to keep an eye out for ghosts and ghouls!

Cool video! I can't believe you didn't eat the outfit, Amici. You must have liked being a construction worker!
