Thanksgiving & Thankfulness

We have some exciting new to share. Kana has a new member of his family- a kitten! Tigger passed away a few months ago as she was hit by a car. She had been part of Kana's whole life with Shawn and she was Shawn's first animal to share his home (6 years +). Mary Ellen, Shawn's fiance' (my human Dad's brother), has never had a cat or dog of her own. This fall she rescued Hunter from the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk, ME. Here he is the very first time at his new home.

Here Kana and Hunter are a couple days later, still working things out.

Due to the new kitty in the house, Amici wasn't able to go to Uncle Shawn's for a while. Kana and Hunter needed to adjust first and then once that happened we slowly have been introducing Amici to Hunter.

Alan's parents were very generous this year and decided to help us all enjoy Thanksgiving by having just one on the actual day. As a result, they offered to come down the Sunday before Thanksgiving which worked out great. Here are the fur kids.

In between the Pennington Thanksgiving and the actual day, Amici and I went to Popham Beach with Linsey.

We had Thanksgiving at my parents' home in the Midcoast Maine area. It was a fun day. We forget that being around 10 people, 2 other dogs, and a cat may be overwhelming not just to us at times but to Amici. By the end of the night he actually jumped into Alan's lap and kissed him asking us to go home. We left a few minutes later and Amici slept all the way home in the backseat with me.

We hope everyone had a safe, fun, and thankful Thanksgiving. We have a lot of things to be thankful for and DWB is one of them. :) Happy Thanksgiving. :)

These big family do-s can be a bit much, eh? Even when you know you have so much to be thankful for. ;-) Hope Hunter is settling in!

Sounds like you had a good time. Wilbur says a new kitty is like the best thing, but I'm not so sure!

Oh, we used to have a kitty that looked just like Hunter (complete with 'back off' ears!).

Popham is great, no? Someday we should meet up there--I'm so curious to see what Amici and Ari would think of each other.
